The wedding of Katie and Shaun, will always hold a special place in my heart. It was my second (non official) wedding and what really helped kick start my career into the business.
On the 17th February 2017, my family friend Katie and Shaun, tied the knot at Denbies wine estate. I already loved the venue as it was where my mum had married my step dad 7 years previous, so it was a great way to re-live those memories too!
I was there, again as a guest, but they knew wedding photography was what I wanted to do, so had spoken to their photographer and asked if he was OK with me taking some shots too, without stepping on his toes of course. He agreed and they even sat me with him at the wedding breakfast so we could discuss tips and tricks.
I snapped away when I could and while we waited for the couple to have their own shots taken, I used the time to focus on the guests and get some natural and relaxed shots.
I knew I still needed practice and I am still so grateful that they allowed me to do so at their wedding.
The best part? They actually preferred my photos over their booked photographer in the end and to this day, use my photos in their albums and frames around their house!
5 years on, they have welcomed two gorgeous children into the world and have also made sure to book me for their new-born shoots, amongst other various family photoshoots throughout the years!
Thank you Katie and Shaun for believing in me and helping me to make a push in my career!
